Health, Safety & Environment

Zero Harm to our people, our communities and the environment.

01 · Overview

Health, Safety & Environment

The health and safety of our employees, local communities and everyone affected by our activities, together with the protection of the environment in which we operate, always come first at Zewa and are fundamental to the success of our business.

Our philosophy is to continually strive for a 'Zero Harm' environment. We implement comprehensive health, safety and environmental policies and procedures throughout our operations, in the belief that all incidents are avoidable.

“Zero Harm”

We believe every incident is avoidable. Our HSE management system is accredited to the international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

02 · Safety Management

Zewa Safety Management

Zewa's safety management is based on a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) system that is seamlessly integrated into every worker's daily activities. Implementing the system involves four steps:

  1. Step 1: Planning

The first step is to break the workload down into smaller components, so that all hazards in each individual work activity can be identified and assessed. This is required to meet each site's requirements, including proper training, procedures and work instructions, and it ensures that the appropriate safety equipment and provisions are in place for every work activity.

  2. Step 2: Implementation

Next comes communication and consultation between everyone involved in a work activity, so that every worker understands the HSE management system. This is achieved through team meetings, suitable training and discussions about health and safety concerns that are open to all workers and employees. Communication is a key part of putting our safety systems into practice.

  3. Step 3: Review

Once implementation is complete, a performance assessment provides a quantitative measure of overall progress. A range of tools built into the safety management system allow every aspect of every work activity to be monitored and evaluated, so future activities can be completed more efficiently, in both time and workflow.

  4. Step 4: Improvement

Improvement is an integral part of our safety management system. Learning from our everyday work activities allows us to refine and improve it continuously.

03 · Our Goal

Our Goal

Our ambitious goal of reducing, and ultimately eliminating, work-related injuries requires hard work and dedication. We demonstrate that dedication throughout the workplace by following strict safety rules and measures.

We provide all the training our employees need to perform their tasks in a safe and healthy manner, ranging from basic workplace safety to the handling of hazardous materials.

In line with this goal, we are committed to the occupational health and safety standard ISO 45001:2018, so that employees and workers have proper working conditions at all times. It is our duty to make sure every employee follows the provisions of the Zewa Safety and Health Plan.

We also work closely with our clients on safety, health and the environment (ISO 45001:2018) to make sure the necessary requirements are met to protect employees, property, equipment and the environment. Our safety policy guarantees that safe practices and measures are continuously improved to better protect the safety and health of every employee.
